Tu as finis ?).

One night in Bangkok ... is enough !
The 26 of February, I go to Thaïland: “Land of smyle”. How can be the land of smyle after Myanmar? You say hello they rejoice ? I’m impatient, I can’t wait anymore, I boil, I crap myself, … hum. Then it’s the long awaited moment, the boarder crossing. One last football game with Burmese customs who are … Burmese, lovely, and I walk pass the boarder. Then it’s the drama, the M moment. I send a giant “Savaticap !(Hello in Thaï)” full of love which receive as an answer the most disgusting “hello” ever with a quarter of forced smyle. Thank you Madam ! It’s gonna be a hard trip.
I have to admit that on this side of the boarder, the tourist is more widespread, noisier, and less respectful too. Cause or consequence? I want to make clear in my mind.
2 days in Mae Sot, a boarder town where I met Award, English and Grim, from Belgium, both friends of the circus. Well, Award is not common, but Grim in Belgium, it’s almost a joke.
Together, we hitchhike to Chang Mai, north of the country. It’s been awhile ! 7H instead of 6H by train. Relatively efficient isn’t it? With a bonus, a sunburn on the knee. Interesting as pain.
In Chang Mai, I discover a little bit better Thailand. Short trip on a scooter in mountains villages with Alex, a Suisse-Italian, among the others. He taught me two important things: “it could be interesting to stay a little bit longer in a place you like” and “it could be interesting to know that the rear brake of the scooter is on the left hand”. " For both I said " Especially if there is sand ". So we decided to go to an island after Bangkok. In Chang Mai, I finally decided to make dreadlocks. 5H of work, 23 Euros and a terrible hangover from the charming combination of a person pulling your hair during 5H and a Gin -Tonic party the previous night.
Then straight ahead to Bangkok with Alex, my new mate. Hitchhiking as well. But as we were both sleeping (“from the charming combination of Gin -Tonic party”, you’re right Bernardo, it’s true), the guy asked Alex to drive to keep him awake. Then, I …. Fell asleep again lulled by the voice of the Thai who kept on speaking about three topics: Make a business together with copper from Laos, Kill the pig to celebrate, nice big fat mama in Laos. Curious mixture. When I woke up later, I thought that Alex could speak Thai. There were communicating perfectly. But eventually, I realized that the topics were always the same. He actually just had time enough to assimilate the few words of the main vocabulary (note: 'assimilate ' may mean something in Thai) . Big laugh at the end.
Arrived in Bangkok , the heat is stifling. You sweat constantly, whatever you do. You think, you stink. However, some weird experiences brightened my brief visit in the capital. Including this crazy taxi driver which should certainly be part of a gang of street racers. I drove two wheels on the pavement and two on the road to pass the traffic jam. Remember: Never say that you’re late in Bangkok… I was so scared that I forgot my new camera in the taxi (shut up Bernardo, shut your m… f…. m…. up !)
Then go to the island …. With sand (ref.: just above for those who not follow), by bus for this time. We slept all the way long (from the charming combination …. Gniah gniah gniah … it’s ok? I can finish? ).
In Koh Chang, we rented a bungalow, 50m far from the beach, and we started one of our 5 main activities. Sleeping, Eating, Smoking, Swimming and Partying. It is sometimes very difficult to get out of a so efficient routine, believe me. A thought for Bernardo who spent his pre fullmoon party in a hammock, sweating his alcohol. I had mercy upon him this evening ( Bernardo said something but I can’t hear) .
But everything has an end and we had to split. He returned to Switzerland looking for a job and me … (I don’t care? He regain consciousness) … no I just go to join Mark in Cambodia.
Thank you Thailand, I nevertheless had a pleasant stay. I'll come back to the "village, moutain, ..." side before going down to Indonesia
See you soon for new stories
